The Outdoor Club started off as a paddling club, and we are staying true to our roots. All students have the opportunity to train in the Paddle Canada Sea Kayaking and Canoeing programs. Advanced paddlers will participate in overnight trips in such locations as Indian Arm, the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, and Desolation Sound.

Living as we do in the shadow of the North Shore mountains, we are well placed to explore the high country on foot. The club hikes in September and October, then we wait till ample snow covers the trails for our snowshoeing outings in January and February.

Experienced hikers can participate in overnight trips to Garibaldi Provincial Park and Stein Valley Nlaka'pamux Heritage Park. Backpacking trips are generally in the fall.
Our 4-day spring campout on Newcastle Island is the highlight of the year for the club. We roll all sorts of activities (kayaking, hiking, campcraft, first aid) into a long weekend of fun and skills building.
